Marketplace Policy

Last updated: 31 August 2026

This policy reflects how Cirkle actually operates today but has not yet completed legal review. Details highlighted in the text below are still pending and will be finalised before this policy is considered final.

1. Purpose

This Marketplace Policy sets the standards for everyone using Cirkle: attendees, event organisers, and vendors. It exists to keep the marketplace safe, honest, and worth trusting with money.

It forms part of our Terms and Conditions and should be read with the Privacy Policy, Refund and Cancellation Policy, and Vendor Agreement.

2. What Cirkle does

Cirkle provides technology that allows organisers to publish events and sell tickets, stalls, and vendor packages, attendees to buy and hold digital entry passes, and vendors to apply for and pay for space at events.

Cirkle is not the organiser, seller, employer, venue, or service provider for any event or vendor listed on the Platform.

3. Standards for everyone

All users must:

  • Provide accurate information
  • Act honestly and lawfully
  • Communicate respectfully with other users and with our team
  • Respect other people's intellectual property and privacy
  • Use the Platform's payment flows where the Platform requires it

Fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or unlawful conduct is prohibited.

4. Standards for event organisers

Organisers must:

  • Publish accurate event information, including date, venue, price, and what a ticket includes
  • Honour valid tickets and passes issued through the Platform
  • Publish clear terms for vendors at their events, and apply them consistently
  • Review vendor applications fairly and within a reasonable time
  • Tell attendees and vendors promptly when an event is cancelled, postponed, or significantly changed
  • Handle refunds owed to their attendees and vendors, in line with their published terms and the Refund and Cancellation Policy
  • Hold the permits, licences, and insurance the event requires, and comply with venue and safety rules
  • Keep payout details accurate and lawful, and only receive settlement for events they are entitled to run

Organisers must not create fake events, sell tickets for events they do not intend to hold, or misrepresent line ups, venues, or entitlements.

5. Standards for vendors

Vendors must:

  • Apply honestly and sell only what they were approved to sell
  • Deliver goods and services safely and as described
  • Hold any licence or permit their trade requires, including food safety requirements
  • Comply with the organiser's event terms and venue rules
  • Treat customers, organisers, staff, and other vendors with respect

Full obligations are set out in the Vendor Agreement.

6. Standards for attendees

Attendees must:

  • Provide accurate information when purchasing
  • Use passes only as intended, and not duplicate, forge, or resell them
  • Comply with the event's and the venue's rules
  • Treat organisers, vendors, staff, and other attendees with respect
  • Raise payment problems with the organiser and with Cirkle before initiating a chargeback

7. Listing requirements

Events, stalls, vendor packages, and vendor profiles must:

  • Be truthful and accurate
  • Use images the lister owns or has permission to use
  • Describe clearly what is being sold and what the buyer receives
  • Show accurate pricing in Nigerian Naira
  • Avoid misleading claims or exaggerated guarantees

Cirkle may reject, edit, unpublish, or remove any listing that does not meet these requirements.

8. Prohibited goods, services, and content

The following must not be listed, promoted, sold, or offered through Cirkle, whether by an organiser or a vendor:

Illegal goods and services Stolen property, counterfeit goods, illegal drugs and controlled substances, forged documents, unlicensed financial services, money laundering services, human trafficking or exploitation, and anything else prohibited by law.

Weapons and dangerous items Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and other dangerous weapons where their sale is prohibited or unlicensed.

Adult and sexual services Pornographic material, escort or prostitution services, and sexually explicit goods or services that are unlawful or inappropriate for a public marketplace.

Fraud Pyramid and Ponzi schemes, fake investment offers, identity theft services, fake events, fake listings, and impersonation of another person or business.

Intellectual property infringement Counterfeit or unauthorised branded merchandise, pirated software or media, and any other infringing goods.

Harmful or offensive content Hate speech, content promoting or glorifying violence, violent extremist material, harassment, bullying, and unlawful discrimination.

Regulated goods Gambling services where prohibited, tobacco and nicotine products where restricted, and alcohol sold in breach of applicable licensing rules. Events that serve alcohol must hold the necessary permissions and must state any age restriction on entry.

Cirkle may remove any listing we reasonably consider unsafe, unlawful, misleading, or damaging to the marketplace, whether or not it appears on this list.

9. Communications

Harassment, threats, hate speech, spam, fraudulent messaging, and abusive language are prohibited, whether on the Platform, in messages sent to contacts obtained through the Platform, or in vendor group chats organised through an event.

Contact details obtained through the Platform, such as a vendor's WhatsApp number or an attendee's name, may be used only for the purpose for which they were shared. Using them for unrelated marketing is prohibited.

10. Payments

Where the Platform requires a transaction to be processed through it, attempting to move that transaction off Platform in order to avoid fees is prohibited and may result in enforcement action.

11. Feedback and ratings

Cirkle does not currently operate a public review or rating system. If we introduce one, we will publish rules covering honest reviews, responses, and the prohibition of fake or incentivised reviews, and this Policy will be updated before the system goes live.

12. Reporting a problem

If you see a fake event, a misleading listing, prohibited goods, harassment, or any other breach of this Policy, report it.

  • Use the Report option on the relevant event or vendor on the Platform
  • Or email hello@cirkl3.com with the details

Reports are reviewed by our team. We may ask you for more information. We will not disclose your identity to the reported party unless we are required to by law.

13. How we enforce this Policy

Depending on the seriousness of the breach, we may:

  • Issue a warning
  • Remove or unpublish a listing or content
  • Reject a vendor application
  • Suspend an individual account, which prevents further activity on the Platform
  • Suspend an entire organiser account, which unpublishes its events and stops further sales
  • Terminate an account permanently
  • Delay or withhold a payout while we investigate, where lawful and necessary
  • Report unlawful conduct to the appropriate authorities

Where we suspend an organiser, entry passes that attendees have already paid for remain valid. We will not penalise buyers for an organiser's breach.

Enforcement action will generally be proportionate to the seriousness of the conduct. Where appropriate and lawful, we will tell you what we have done and why, and give you an opportunity to respond.

14. Appeals

If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, contact hello@cirkl3.com with your account details and an explanation. We will review the decision.

15. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Policy.
